PROGRAMME CURRICULUM - DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

NOTE! Only courses included in curriculum of the programme you are admitted to are available for pre-selection, and the course "THSV08 Beginners Course in Swedish, level 1", as an optional course, but not included in the Master degree.
In case of discrepancies between the programme curriculum and the pre-selection pages in the Student Portal regarding

  • compulsory courses (o) or electives (v) of the programme
  • which study period a course is given in
  • which timetable group a course in scheduled in
the programme curriculum should be considered as correct.

If there are elective courses available within the curriculum, make sure your choice doesn't prevent you from fullfilling the degree requirements, see the the programme syllabus.

When in doubt, please contact the student counsellor before pre-selecting courses.

Master thesis/Final project is not available for pre-selection in the Portal.


PREPARATION
In order to be able to pre-select courses in the Student Portal, you must be formally admitted to a programme and have an active registration for the first programme semester during this on-going semester. Thus, you must not have aborted the studies or announced interruption of studies from the programme. An activated student email address is also required.

When in doubt, please see information at universityadmission.se if you are required to pay tuition fee or not.

RESPONSIBILITY
You are responsible for pre-selecting courses for the next semester. Without pre-selected courses you will not be able to register for continued studies at the start of the next semester.

CANCELLATION
If a course attracts few applicants it will be cancelled. If this happens, you will be notified before the next semester starts.

HOW TO
The course pre-selection is made in the Student Portal: https://www.student.liu.se/portal/ 1-10 October

On the course pre-selection page your current programme registration is shown. If it's not correct you must contact the student counsellor to correct it before pre-selecting courses to avoid furher problems.

If you have electives within your programme, make sure you, at the start of the course, will fullfil the prerequisites as mentioned in the course syllabus.

Check the courses you want to pre-select, click the 'Next'-button and verify your pre-selections. You may pre-select courses summing up to a maximum of 38 credits, including the optional Swedish-course.

During the pre-selection period you may change your pre-selection as many times as you want, but the pre-selections made when the pre-selection closes will be the courses you may register for at the start of the nextsemester.

Then, please, add information about yourself (personal identity number, programme name, course code if your question is about a specific course) and send the email from your student email address to make it easier for us to help you. If you received any kind of error message, also add that.
